About Web Videos

Lately, businesses have been uploading impressive videos on their sites to grab the attention of internet users. Also, there are a number of sites that provide video hosting services. With the broadband technology reaching millions of homes, it's now possible to do video streaming without much of a technical problem.

The prime reason why web videos are becoming increasingly popular is the ease with which a message could be conveyed in minutes or even seconds. Also, the visual impact lasts longer than any other contemporary way.

To advertise your own home business, you can produce interesting videos and either upload them on your own website or get them hosted on the video hosting sites. Google, now is also providing video search service, though that is confined to the words you write as a caption for your video. There are several aspects that you should keep in mind while going for this exceptional marketing and advertising tool. They are:

Duration

An internet user who has finally visited your site, won’t stay for long. Make your video short and crisp. Whatever style you adopt, it should convey the message with a clear audible voiceover unless you decide against having an audio.

Quality

The quality depends on your digital video camera. But even the average ones can solve the purpose. The sound quality is of greater importance here. A surfer can still tolerate a not-so-professionally-produced video, but a slight snag in the audio can put him off and make him click away from your site in a jiffy.

Presenters

Be very particular about who you chose as a presenter. A smart presenter introducing your home biz concept or products or services leaves a strong impression on the internet users’ mind. You may go to the extent of deciding on the attire and directing the facial expressions of the presenter. Nowadays, advertisers are also using digital presenters for a change.

Message

Whatever you intend to convey, needs to be scripted keeping in mind the target audience of your products or services. If you are into home care products, your message should relate to the needs of the target audience that would be actually interested in such products. Follow basic marketing principles!

Technicalities

Be particular about the file type. Often with great enthusiasm, advertisers upload video files that are only too heavy and don’t open before much waiting. The most commonly used file formats are Flash (.flv or .swf), Quicktime (.mov), Windows Media (.wmv or .wma), Real Player (.rm or.ram) and MPEG (.mpg or .mpeg). Flash is the most accepted file format today and almost all modern PCs are able to play Flash video. It has a smaller file size, provides good quality, and has a good compatibility with a majority of websites.

According to COMScore, a leader in digital media measurement in January 2007, nearly 123 million people in the US (70 percent of the total US internet audience) viewed 7.2 billion videos online. The average video streamer viewed 59 streams during the course of the month – nearly two videos per day – and viewed an average of 151 minutes of video online during the month.
The data only speaks volumes about the sudden upsurge in the usage of web videos as an advertising and marketing tool.

However, to get detailed information, one has to rely on the old ‘keywords search’ method. So even if you have an outstanding video on the web, you can’t really overlook the merits of having enough web content related to your business.

People search not only for having casual information; they also carry out serious research and studies on myriad subjects. So there could be any number of network marketing aspirants, who could be voraciously looking for relevant informational content on home business. Web videos alone, may still not solve their purpose.
