The Art of Entrepreneurship

We are sure most of you have read a good number of books on entrepreneurship. Zillions of books have been written and any number of training sessions have been conducted on this subject.

We are not going to bombard you all with clichéd information here. We are only going to point out some basic aspects that you don’t get to read about but at the same time can’t afford to miss them.

According to www.dictionary.com an entrepreneur is a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, especially a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk. We can clearly see four different aspects – organizing, managing, initiating and taking risk. Now we don’t have any intentions of talking like a management guru here. My viewpoints are only to help you make a conducive business environment for yourself.

Often, entrepreneurs get confused about what to follow when so much is coming to them from all directions. An able entrepreneur would keep a balance among all desired virtues much discussed in the training sessions, script books, etc.

We suggest you choose a mentor for yourself and religiously follow his or her advice. It is not necessary that you have to regularly meet him or her face to face to do that. You can also do well by reading your mentor’s books. But one mentor is more than enough or contradictory viewpoints may perplex you. An important point to note - you might be hugely inspired by a success story you read, but adapting your plan to that story would only make your own a bleak one!

As an entrepreneur, your rule should be – ‘I have a head on my shoulders, I would only use knowledge that is suitable for my own environment and never get carried away by others’ success.’ This is something similar to the culinary art. We are sure all of you have been to any number of eating places or restaurants. The chef at each restaurant has his own special style of cooking. You may eat the same dish at different restaurants but there would always be something different about each chef’s style. No two chefs would cook the same dish the same way!

Having done that, we come to the next stage when you would be making your periodic action plans. While doing so, always bear in mind where you want to go. We mean don’t just make an isolated plan for the sake of making one.

Once again, analyze your situation. You plan to go full time or part-time? How many hours a day would you be able to give? What will be your territory? Would you need training and time to learn the business? How many people do you plan to sponsor? All these aspects would have a direct impact on your action plan. Just developing one based on what you read in a book or heard somewhere is not the right way.

In fact, no trainer or mentor ever intends that you do it that way. They only guide you and place you on the right track. Now you have to do the driving!

Develop your own style of interacting with your prospects. We don’t mean you follow your own set of rules to do home business and only fail in achieving results. We are talking about the style which is going to be your identity. Become a brand so that your name triggers a picture about your that style in your prospects’ minds.

Every mega leader in the industry has acquired a public figure status out of his or her sheer perseverance and commitment. People know them by their styles who have earned millions after achieving the icon status. Models, actors, sportspersons and other celebrities earn millions by just endorsing products.

Why do companies take them for that purpose? It is because they know any thing endorsed by them would be immediately accepted by millions of people. The star image works like magic. The masses don’t doubt much when they have an icon to support their decision.

Pick the traits of these successful people and utilize them in your home business. Once people start recognizing you for your style, you don’t have to do much. They will flock around you and would be more than eager to join your enterprise to duplicate that style. Again, do not forget the rule here, everything that you do should be suitable for your environment…that is very important!
